In recent years, I have really started to focus on my skincare. Makeup removers are essential in my makeup removal routine. Dermalogica has recently released their precleanse and I was so excited to finally try it!
Dermalogica's precleanse is their first step of their double cleanse routine. It contains olive, apricot and kukui nut oils which help cut through makeup, sunscreens and oil-based debris. Thus, allowing your regular cleanser to give your skin a better cleanse. The formula does not contain artificial fragrances and colours. Dermalogica claims that this is suitable for all skin condition but works really well with oily skin.
The product comes in a 150 mL bottle and has a lockable pump. The product retails for AUD 54 and can be purchased from the Dermalogica Australia Website and it can be purchased at David Jones.
My Experience
The product is fairly easy to use. I used 1 to 1 pump and a half on dry hands and I apply it directly onto my face. I try to concentrate the product more on the eyes as this is where I feel I wear a lot of makeup. I massage it into the skin for a minute, I then apply a few splashes of warm water onto the skin. It turns the oil into a white, milky solution and this is when you see the makeup actually melting off. I massage it again for another minute. I then rinse and apply my regular facial cleanser. I find it works really well at removing my makeup, even Benefit's They're Real Mascara which is really hard to remove with just a simple cleanser.
Overall
I think this is a really good product. I highly recommend it! I usually have to use a toner to help remove the last traces of makeup on my face but ever since using this product, I have found that I barely need a toner for that purpose anymore. I feel that it is more gentle on my lashes because I do not have to rub to remove my mascara. I think it is a little bit on the expensive side of skincare but I think it is worth the money!
The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that if you wear contacts and you get it in your eye, it will cloud your vision. It does not sting but you do need to either take your contacts out to give them a good clean or you have to use eye drops to clear up your vision. Overall I really like this product and I highly recommend it to those looking at investing in a facial oil that will aid in makeup removal.
