Real Techniques Miracle Diamond Sponge | ThePopHeir | Product Review

Real Techniques has released a new beauty sponge! It is part of their higher end Bold Metals Line. It is currently not available in Australia but I managed to get my hands on one.

I have already done a first impression video on the channel. If you would like to see my first thoughts and opinion and to see the sponge in action, click on the link below.

The Sponge

The sponge comes in a diamond shape that has 13 facets which can used to apply product. Each sponge has its own swirl pattern which to be honest I am not a fan of. I feel that the brand was just capitalising on the boom in the interest for marble designs. It isn't as tacky in person but I can see how the design might not be for everyone.

Review

After figuring out how to hold the sponge, I found it quite easy to use the sponge and I definitely prefer to apply foundation with my fingers first and then use the sponge to blend. This is how I would normally do it. The finish is pretty much the same as what you would get from any beauty sponge that isn't a beauty blender. It is nice, dewy and pressed into the skin. The sponge's design makes it easy to apply product precisely.

In terms of cleaning, I found that I had to use more of my Daiso puff and sponge cleaner as I found that the sponge sucked in a lot of the foundation into its core. The foundations that I have tried out with the sponge so far have not stain the sponge.

Overall

I really like this sponge. It works really well, the feel of the actual sponge material feels like a beauty blender. I wouldn't say the feel and the finish is as good as the beauty blender but it comes very close. The original miracle complexion sponge was my #2 beauty sponge but I am afraid the diamond miracle sponge has now taken that spot.

I got my sponge off iHerb. They also ship worldwide. If you would like to save 10% off your purchase, feel free to use the link below

UPDATE: The sponge is now available in Australia. You can get it from the Real Techniques Australia Website
