Out of all the drugstore brands, I put L'oreal as the gold standard! Their foundations have always wowed me. No gimmicks, just great foundation that does the job.
In the photo above as 2 of my favourite L'oreal Paris foundations. The Lumi Magique and True Match foundations. I still have the old bottle/formula of the True Match formula. The names and bottles vary depending on the country.
My first L'oreal love is the true match foundation. When I first heard about it back in 2010, I was so amazed by the fact that this foundation comes in 3 different tones. Cool, Warm and Neutral. I have use N6 or W5 or W6. I love this foundation because it is a light medium foundation that can be built to medium coverage. The finish is a demi-matte making it a very versatile foundation. You can add a mattifying powder for the matte look or add a highlighter to add some shine. The lasting power is really good as well!
The Lumi Magique foundation to me is the dewy version of the True Match foundation. I have always been a fan of the dewy look so when this foundation came out, I could not wait to get my hands on it. One coat gives medium coverage and two coats gives medium full but because it has a satin finish, it does not look flat and cakey. The only flaw with this range is that it does not a varied range of shades like the True Match range. Despite it giving a satin dewy finish, it has great lasting power even without primer.
