Swatch/Review: BOE Lipsticks

Quality drugstore lipsticks always make me happy. BOE beauty and professional are lines by BOE offer different kinds of lippies at different prices. I will be swatching and reviewing these lippies.

To give a bit of incite into the brand. BOE beauty and BOE professional are brands only available at BIG W. They are also only available in-store so if you guys are from overseas, might be best to check eBay if they have any of these. BOE beauty is their $2 range and BOE professional is priced more like other Australian brands. Most lipsticks would be at least $6.

BOE beauty Matte Lip Creme

Delight is your typical light coral pink shade. I find that this shade is not vey pigmented. My lips are fairly pigmented so it might show up better on people with fairer lips. Despite being a matte finish lipstick, I find it has a fair bit of shine in it. I would say it is shinier than a satin finish lipstick. In terms of removal, it is fairly easy and it does not stain the lips.

Candy is more of a Cherry red colour. Slightly cool toned. This shade is slightly more pigmented compared to Delight. It is not matte as it has a signifiant amount of shine. I find that this shade is not particularly buildable, once the first layer is dry. Upon applying another layer, I found it rubbed off the first layer. In terms of its removal, it is fairly easy and does not stain the lips which can be a good or bad thing.

BOE Professional Lippies

This is a tiny lip pencil in my opinion but it does the job. Sienna is a mauve type nude lip pencil which makes it the perfect pencil to use to line your lips. Then you would follow with a lighter nude to emphasise the lips. It overall works like any lip pencil. I do not see anything special with this lip pencil. The lasting power is pretty standard.

Velvet Soft is an appropriate for name for this lipstick, it is very soft! The formula is very similar to MAC's satin finish lipsticks and Rimmel London Kate collection lipsticks. Despite being called matte it does have a subtle shine to it. Nothing too noticeable but it definitely is not like a retro matte lipstick. It is quite hydrating and lasts pretty well on the lips. I do find that after a while you will develop that yucky white film at the inner part of the lips.

Out of all the products I've tried so far from BOE this is what I absolutely fell in love with. Majestic is a lovely nude brown shade. It is a lip gloss but it is so pigmented that it can be used as a liquid lipstick. It is definitely shinny but unlike most drugstore lipglosses it is not sticky. It does not have the greatest lasting power, especially when you are eating. It just rubs off quickly. However for the price and the colour I am more than happy to repurchase this and touch up frequently throughout the day.

Swatch

Each product was only swiped once. This gives you an idea of the pigmentation of the product.
