Herbal Essences Moroccan My Shine Shampoo & Conditioner

I am a bleach blonde and I have dry, damaged hair. I have been looking for a drugstore shampoo and conditioner that would add moisture and shine back into my hair. I think I have just found the very combo that I have been searching for!

I have always been a big fan of Herbal Essences, especially of their Hello Moisture conditioner. That stuff is incredibly moisturising. I know that I have stated a couple of times that I prefer salon level shampoos & conditioners for my hair but I do make exemptions.

This range is very reminiscent of the Hello Hydration range because of its packaging. This range is aimed at providing more shine to the hair with its Argan oil extract infused formula. Argan oil is quite a popular oil used in many moisturising products so when I was asked to review this combo, I instantly jumped on it.

The Shampoo

The shampoo basically promises to restore brilliant shine to the hair. It also promises to clean the hair without stripping the hair. The shampoo itself it a light blue colour similar to that of the bottle. The bottle of the shampoo is actually a transparent turquoise colour so you can keep track of how much shampoo you have used. The shampoo itself is a light blue colour. The fragrance is great and refreshing but is not overwhelming. In combination with the conditioner the fragrance does linger in the hair for hours.

The Conditioner

When it comes to a shine range, the conditioner often provides majority of the shine. The bottle is more of an opaque turquoise which makes it harder to see how much conditioner you have already used. The fragrance and the colour of the conditioner are the same as the shampoo.

My Experience

I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for roughly 3 weeks now and I normally wash my hair every two days. I did not use this regularly as I alternate this combo with my regular protein reparative combo. I found that as soon as I used the shampoo it did hydrate my hair and my hair did not feel stiff or have that really dry clean feel. I initially hoped that the shampoo would kind of tone my hair as it is a light blue colour but it did not which is ok as it did not claim to do so. The main hydration punch came from the conditioner, my hair instantly feels really soft and flexible again.

I normally let my hair air dry for a bit and then I spray a heat protectant that does not have any shine properties to it. I found that after my hair was all dry and styled that my hair was visibly hydrated and it did have its shine back. It was super shinny that it looked like my hair had a gloss to it but a healthy shine.

Overall I am really happy with the results that I have gotten from this combo. It is currently winter as I am writing this post and I feel that my hair no longer matches the dry and dead branches outside my window thanks to this combo! I highly recommend that you guys check them out. They are quite affordable and readily available at supermarkets and chemists such as Priceline.
