Rimmel London has finally joined the liquid highlighter game! This product has yet to be released in Australia but I managed to get my hands on one from the UK. So the big question is, is this going to give you that highlighter on fleek look?
Rimmel London claims that this is an instant buildable illuminator and highlighter with light reflecting pigments. This is suppose to give a radiant and luminous look to the skin. It can be worn alone or blended in with foundation for a subtle all over glow. The product is available in 3 shades, a light golden shade, coral pink shade and a white shade.
I picked the shade in Picadilly Glow, I really wanted to get the golden toned highlighter as well. However it sold out pretty quick. The product comes in a small 25ml squeeze tube. Its pretty hygienic but It is hard to determine how much product is left in the tube as the tube is quite opaque. It is however, easy to dispense the desired amount of product.
The product itself is a mix between a liquid and gel, it is not very runny allowing precise control on where you want to apply and blend the product. The product's consistency reminds me of a lipgloss without the excessive tack. The pigmentation is very sheer but can be built up to sheen of colour. There are visible bits of fine shimmer that are not very noticeable from afar. Once, applied to the high points of the face it gives a healthy luminous look to the skin. As the shade I picked is more pinky coral, I have not mixed it in with a foundation as I prefer apply highlighter to specific points on my face.
Overall
I think this is a great everyday highlighter! It looks great on the skin and does not make you look oily. I would suggest this product to those looking for a product that gives them a natural, everyday luminous look. I suggest to apply this last in your makeup routine and it works well over powder as long as you apply it with a sponge.
As this product has not been released in Australia at the time of this post. If you wish to get your hands on this product I highly recommend checking out Asos.com
