This is latest addition to the Rimmel London Wake Me Up range. This mascara is not only eye catching but also has a lot of promises under its belt. I have never really been a big fan of Rimmel mascaras, so has this changed my mind?
I have tried numerous mascaras from Rimmel London and I have never really fancied any of them. So when I was approached to try this mascara out I was a bit apprehensive. However after trying it out for a week weeks, I have fallen in love with this mascara.
Rimmel claims that this mascara has an exclusive formula with vitamins and cucumber extracts that help make your lashes feel conditioned throughout the day. When you first open the tube, the first thing you will smell is the cucumber fragrance which is not too strong and is actually very refreshing.
The Brush
They also claim that the precision brush with soft, lash-hugging fibres smoothly wraps each and every lash with defined, clump free volume. The wand is not new to the mascara game however not many brands utilise this type of design. I find that the size is just right for my small eyes and in just a few swipes I am able to coat majority of my lashes. I also like how the end is tapered into almost like a ball which is great for applying mascara to the corner lashes.
The Application
In the above photos, I show my lashes with and without mascara. What I look for in mascaras is volume and decent lash lift.
In the second photo, I applied 2 layers and it provided a lot of volume and added some length. The lash lift is pretty good as well. I did not experience any flaking throughout the day and minimal smudging after the 6th hour. It is very easy to remove, I normally use a makeup wipe or eye makeup remover.
My Experience
I have had this mascara for a few weeks and I am a fan of it. I do feel that the conditioning formula helps maintain the state of my lashes. The wand makes the application process simple and easy and I do feel that I am able to get all of my lashes. I do experience smudging usually around the 6th hour but it is not too bad. I am not a big fan of waterproof formulas and I do not see myself ever getting the waterproof version of this mascara.
Overall, I think this is a wonderful mascara from Rimmel London. As I have mentioned I have never truly been a fan of their mascaras but this one is actually really good. It provides great volume, decent lasting power and is easy to remove. I would recommend this mascara to those looking for a somewhat dramatic volumising mascara.
