L'oreal Paris Brow Artist Genius Kit | ThePopHeir | Review & Swatches

In recent years, many makeup companies have been upping their brow game. L'oreal is no exception! They have recently released a compact brow kit that pretty much has all your brow needs covered.
The brow kit is small and compact making it a great choice for those who like to do their makeup on the go and for those with want to ensure that their brows will be on fleek all night long. The kit has a decent sized mirror, comes with a mini dual-ended brush that has a spoolie and angled brush, a pair of mini tweezers and of course the brow wax and powder.

Medium to Dark

It also came with a plastic sheet that had instructions on how to use the product which also could be used to protect the mirror. I, however, have discarded it. The kit gives you the same amount of wax and brow powder.

Medium to Dark is perfect for brunettes that are looking for an ash toned brown. The wax swatches more of a neutral dark brown but once applied on to the skin/brows it appears more ash. The powder itself in real life looks like a chocolate brown but again once applied it appears ash.
Light to Medium

This shade is designed for those with lighter hair. I usually grab for this as it complements my medium brown brows and my light blonde hair. Again in the pan it appears to be neutral and might be too warm but once applied it appears neutral or ashy depending on the colour of your brows.

My experience

I found the waxes were not as pigmented but were pigmented enough that you can still see them on your skin. The applied easily, smoothly and evenly. They provided a nice tacky base for the the brow powder.

The brow powders were not very powdery in the sense that when you touched the powder with your brush, that it would break apart and become a powdery mess. They were much more pigmented compared to the wax and had a matte finish.

Brow products on me in general last throughout the entire day and night so I never really find myself touching them up. I would say these products last very well on the skin/brows and do not melt off or wash off easily so if you find yourself out and about and it suddenly rains, you can be assured that you will still have brows by the time you get home.

I did find the dual ended brush was a bit hard to use mostly due to it's size but it is definitely workable. The mini tweezers I found to be quite handy when you aren't ready to have your brows done but you really need to get rid of that stray hair. However, if you have a problem with over plucking, its probably a good idea to take it out of the kit!

Overall

Overall, I think this kit is great! It the product is pigmented, the mirror is of a decent size and it has really handy tools that work. The only issue I have with this kit is that it is quite expensive for a drugstore product at  AUD 24.95. The only things that really set this apart from their competitors is that it has a mirror and a pair of tweezers. I would recommend this product to those looking for a kit that pretty much has everything they need.
