I have been wearing makeup for years now and I have always found it hard to conceal my 5 o'clock shadow. No matter if the foundation is medium or fuller coverage, I still saw the shadow and it would really annoy me. Thankfully I have found this amazing product!
Ben Nye is more of a theatric/TV makeup type brand and a lot of drag queens use their products too. After doing a lot of research, I found out that many drag queens use this product to help conceal/colour correct their shadows.
Ben Nye claims that this product can conceal blue-black beard shadows. It may be applied beneath or over foundation. and can be used to conceal intense black pigmentation under the eyes. This pot contains 8.4g and I purchased mine from Scotty's Makeup, here in Australia. It retails for AU$15.
My experience
I first apply a primer on the skin then apply the product using my fingers and use a patting motion. I mainly focus on the wear the shadow is most intense and feather it out around the edges. I then apply a powder on top to set it. I then apply my foundation using a beauty sponge and depending on the coverage of the foundation, I will apply a concealer on top. Despite having this many layers of product on the skin, I do not find it caking throughout the day.
Overall
I am obsessed with this product! I rarely do my makeup with using the product. It is very pigmented, so it will last a long time and it just works! I have used many orange toned corrects and orange lipsticks to help colour correct my 5 o'clock shadow but nothing compares this! I highly recommend it!
Can you just use this alone on your shawdow without applying extra concealer or makeup? Or no?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, no. You would have to wear foundation or a concealer on top. It is mostly a colour correcting product and it will just look like you put orange on your face. The Orange helps cancel out the blue-green tones and you need to cover the orange with either a foundation or concealer. Hope this helps xo
